Basically, already shot scenes from three abandoned film projects by
Sean Weathers, from circa 2003 or 2004, some accompanied by commentary by
Sean Weathers and long-time partner-in-crime Aswad Issa:
- The Erotic Adventures of Samson and Delilah: Two sex scenes,
despite the biblical title obviously shot in some modern day
apartment. The actors in this look rather awkward and seem to feel
uncomfortable regarding having (fake) sex in front of a camera. And
the camerawork, that almost invariably puts some object between the
actors and the camera to create a voyeuristic feeling doesn't really
make sense. Even Sean Weathers agrees.
- Gangz vs Cult: This was a project straight from Weathers'
heart, a gangmovie that gradually shifts into death cult territory.
The scenes for this actually look pretty decent and promising (in a
low budget sort of way), but for some reason, the film was not to be.
- Escape from Bloodbath Island: This was to be a slasher about
a sextet of young people stranded on a desert island, and killed off
one by one. Some of the stuff film looks promising but the problems
were manyfold, from terrible actors to people not showing up on set to
uncharged camera batteries to a model airplane field right next to the
location deeming most of the sound unusable. Now the concept of this
film was good, but there were just too many hurdles to be overcome.

Now it's debatable if it's any kind of a loss not to be able to see any
of these mofies in their entirety, but The Unfinished Works of Sean
Weathers, the film as it is, is a wonderful testament to the trials
and tribulations of low budget filmmaking, where everything can become a
problem from airplane noise to missing camera manuals to uncharged
batteries - and it makes one really appreciate the work of these people,
who gnaw their way through despite everything.
And it's an especially fascinating companion piece to the films Sean
Weathers has actually finished, at least some of which are really good.
