To have sex with her lover, the clown Pierrot (Yumemura Shiro), lady Minoka
(Junko Miyashita), wife of a rich businessman, has rented an appartment in a
run down building. One day during sex though she notices she is watched by
Gouda (Renji Ishibashi) through a hole in the appartment's ceiling. Far from
being furious, this really turns her on & she decides to visit the
appartment more frequently, sometimes even without her lover, just to
masturbate for Gouda, while on the other hand, sex with her husband - at home,
where Gouda cannot watch - turns more & more into a desaster.
Gouda, who also has feelings for Minako, decides one day to pay the clown
not to come, & comes in his stead, in his costume, to have sex with Minako,
but somehow that doesn't work out at all ...
In the meantime, Minako's chauffeur Hiruta (Toshihiko Oda), who is secretly
in love with her, promises her his silence only under one condition: that he is
allowed to hide inside Minako's special chair, which allows him, thanks to some
special adaptations, to have sex with her sitting on the chair while he is
inside it (!). She agrees (!!).
One day, Minako decides to test Gouda, & while having sex with Pierrot,
strangles huim & dumps the body in a lake - all before Gouda's eyes. On the
next day, she invites Gouda to her place & - while having sex with the
chair before his very eyes - asks him if he could do anything like what she did
(the murder, not the sex with the chair).
Soon, Gouda puts a cunning plan into action in the course of which he
poisons his next-door neighbour, a perverse priest, from his attic hide-out,
just to prove worthy of Minako. Minako, impressed, poisons her husband &
burns her chauffeur inside the chair to be free for him. But as ultimate proof
of their love, together they rape & kill a female painter who has just
painted their bodies, only then can they have normal sex with one another ...
until the great Tokyo earthquake of 1923 interrupts them & ultimately
buries them under the rubble.
Despite the fact that this synopsis sounds sleazy as hell, this is not an
out-&-out sex-movie but rather a lyrical - if perverse - love story. Many
of the concepts are just to sleazy though to make this a mainstream romance,
mind you. Rather, it is a sentimental and twisted piece of erotica - a
combination not often found in cinema, as it is.
