This was a very quiet town until very recently, but then Riley (Russ
Camarda), a notorious local bully turned petty criminal, has come out of
prison (again), and suddenly locals drop like flies - and they all have
one thing in common, they have been bullied by Riley when they were kids,
plus Riley has visited each and every one of them on the day they have
died - there are plenty of eye witnesses and even fingerprints to prove
that. And even though no murder weapon has ever been found and there are
no actual eye witnesses to the actual murders and Riley denies the
accusations, with all the circumstancial evidence there is no jury that
wouldn't convict him. Still, once in jail, he's visited by criminal
psychologist (and best-selling non-fiction author) Dr Staci Brennan
(Katherine Barron), and thanks to her unorthodox approach to things, he
slowly opens up to her and finds out more about himself and about the case
- including some unexpected things that shock him more than anybody else
... Bullified is a very cleverly written film that from
the get-go actually makes you feel you have seen all of this before, but
you stick around because the film has a quite gripping build-up and the
tension never once eases - and the further you get into it, the less
familiar the film becomes actually, until for the third act, it totally
catches you on the wrong foot - to the best possible result. This all is
of course helped by a very tight directorial effort and two great leads
who play really well off one another. Definitely worth a look!!!
