Vernon (Michael Gonza) is waiting for his blind date in a diner, and
he's a bit on the nervous side - to be rather overwhelmed how beautiful
she (Marybeth Paul) is when she does enter. Things get a bit awkward
though when he hands her an envelope of money she freely accepts but
"only under the table." But for being an apparent prostitute,
she's also a very empathetic therapist, doing her best to loosen Vernon's
tensions. But it's only when Vernon suddenly gets up and runs away that we
learn what this is really all about - and it has nothing to do with sex
for sale ...
Interesting little movie that has its smart story basically
carried by its actors, their gestures and body language, which leads one
astray for the longest time - and even if the movie is obviously driven by
its surprise resolution, they way to get there is more than just
entertaining.
