Halsey) has been hooked on heroin - which for him is a great way to escape reality, so he doesn't even think about quitting ... and then some of the heroin he has gotten off the pusher of his trust turns out to be lethal - and he dies. But Alex (Sal Rendino) brings him back to life, Alex, who implies that he might be an angel and who promises to get Doyle to heaven if he fulfills a simple task: To take out Tommy (Chris Cardona), the man who hooked him up with heroin to begin with, and retrieve a certain object from him, a sacred knife of sorts.<p>Especially after he sees his girlfriend (Nicole Vogt-Lowell) die from an overdose but leaving him a gun, Doyle figures he's got nothing to lose - but he ought to have thought a little harder, because someone who has something in his possession that a supernatural being wants and can't get himself is lightly to be more than mere human himself ...<p> <p>A thriller at the crossroads of junkie drama, high octane action and paranormal horror, <b>Junkie Heaven</b> is above everything else just a really cool short that works in all of these genres, and above all else manages to entertain with a fresh story with plenty of surprise plottwists, all in a well-paced narrative framework, sprinkled with some very decent action scenes, and carried by a very competent cast.<p>Totally enjoyable, really.<p>  </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="592" valign="top">  <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> currentyear = "2015"; </SCRIPT> <SCRIPT language="JavaScript" src="../scripts/endcredits.js"></SCRIPT> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> dosworsdonn(); </SCRIPT> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </body>
