Beth (Estefania Preciado) should feel safe as can be in her house, as
there are security cameras everywhere, including the front porch, and she
has access to them all the time via her cellphone - and then she suddenly
finds a lady (Rosa Pérez) scratching her front door, a lady that just
looks weird in a spooky kind of way. Beth threatens she'll call the
police, but the lady won't even acknowledge her, she just keeps
scratching. Of course, Beth doesn't call the police but goes looking - to
find nobody at the front door at all, as if the lady has vanished into
thin air. Beth makes sure the door's properly shut and locked - but that
might just mean locking her unwanted visitor in with her ... The
Lady is a rather wonderful horror miniature that leads only very
little in terms of story (let alone backstory) to pull the audience in,
relying on the creepiness of the situation as well as atmospheric
filmmaking to create tension and suspense - and ultimately freak the
viewer out. People who enjoy a good chill every now and again will love
this.
