GamerGurl (Aileigh Karson) has a popular YouTube show where she plays
games she hasn't seen before live on stream to show her genuine reactions
- and this time it's an indie horror game ... which scares the shit out of
her as it is as it does get a little too personal - and then the game's
developer (Tristan McIntosh) calls to tell her there's something wrong
with the game and ... yikes! Now granted, my understanding of
computer games is very limited, including of course horror games - but
still, this movie hits a nerve with me, basically because it gets really
much out of its limited and limiting premise and manages the feel of
unease of the character (and thus the scares) really palpable thanks to a
cleverly written script first and foremost that builds up the film's
tension really well in its less than five minutes of running time, to end
on a fittingly unsettling twist. Good genre fun, really!
