Your new movie Don't Make a Sound - in a few words, what's it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?

Don't Make a Sound is about two sisters who become the hunted prey of a deranged killer, who captures his victims on film.

My character happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, a jogger who comes in the line of fire.

What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how much Dante B. Salazar can we find in the jogger?

I mean I do like a good workout, although I did take a lot of inspiration from old-school slashers like Friday the 13th chase scenes in the woods.

How did you get involved with the project in the first place, what drew you to it?

A good friend recommended me to talk to the director, and I was lucky since it was in the last minute and they still needed one more kill so to speak.

To what extent could you identify with Don't Make a Sound's approach to horror?

I do like the found footage format, it gives plenty of room for imagination to run free, and it's pretty scary too. For myself I do remember the good old days when being a kid, and me and my friends used to sneak into the abandoned factories and old woods and run around, now this was before cellphones and computers were a thing, so we did explore and scared each other since we were a few close friends who loved horror movies.

What can you tell us about Don't Make a Sound's director Jt Kris, and what was your collaboration like?

Really down-to-earth guy, good with directing and coming up with ideas on the spot, also I was allowed to improvise and try out different things.

You've worked with Jt Kris before - so what can you tell us about your previous collaborations, and how did you first meet even?

That would be Ouija Clown and latest the short movie for SRS Cinema's Amityverse anthology,

We met at a little café and kind of started talking about horror movies, and then we kind of never stopped, both huge fans - well, more nerds to be honest -, the conversation about directors, genres, movies, characters can always go on forever. So we kind of vibed directly from that point on.

Back to Don't Make a Sound - a few words about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?

The on-set atmosphere was great, it was in a forest on the outskirts of the coast town where I live in, and being in Spain it was not cold nor too hot a that time of the year.

Any future projects you'd like to share?

The Arkansas Pigman Massacre wrapped late summer last year, and I'm very exited about that one. Who doesn't like a good urban legend with plenty of guts and blood everywhere.

What got you into acting in the first place, and did you receive any formal training on the subject?

I have a history with theatre, went to theatre school, which kind of led to modeling which in later years turned to acting, so I guess I come kind of full circle. Regarding training, it's always good to have some stamina and take care of oneself, since most kind of these roles require some tossing, crawling and running around.

How would you describe yourself as an actor, and some of your techniques to bring your characters to life?

I do like method acting and from my theather days I did study the Stanislavski method, bit hardcore but it deff brings it all out.

Actors (and indeed actresses) who inspire you?

Jamie Lee Curtis is a given as the scream queen she is, Robert Englund [Robert Englund bio - click here] who is apart from Freddy Krueger an amazing actor, and Scream would not be the same without Neve Campbell.

Carrie, Scream, Death Proof, Cloverfield, and I've always been a huge fan of David Lynch, and my favourite movie of all time is Mulholland Drive, watched it so many times and never get tired to experience it again and again.

Your website, social media, whatever else?

I am old school, but you will find me on my Instagram: @mr_poet

Everyday life of a quirky nerd one could say.

Anything else you're dying to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask?

I believe we got most covered, I guess a piece of advice to aspiring actors out there is to never give up on your dreams and keep an open might. Meditate, set your intentions and manifest and don't forget to smile.

Thanks for the interview!
