Your new movie Grace of God - in a few words, what's it
about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?
It’s about this cult called Children of Light, where one
of the young members decides to flee and we can’t have that, can we? ;)
What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how
much Dante B. Salazar can we find Malachi?
Well, I binge watched Stephen King's
Children of the Corn
to get that cult vibe going. My character is a hunter, and I guess me
personally is always on the prowl ;)
How did you get involved with the project in the first place, what
drew you to it? Director JT Kris contacted me and explained:
Cult, hunter, white robes and I was sold.
To what extent could you identify with Grace of God's
approach to horror? I mean, it’s a different kind of horror, slow-paced and more
cinematic at points, with beautiful artwork while maintaining that
slow-burn feeling.
What can you tell us about Grace of God's director Jt
Kris, and what was your collaboration like?
Very down to earth guy with the same passion for indie movies and
horror movies in general, which is something we have in common, and we
could go on and on about it for hours. As a director, he’s very good
at explaining things while still leaving a lot for the actors to do
and try. Our collaboration has been more like hanging out at times
more than actually shooting scenes, good quality, energy and
vibes. You've worked with Jt Kris before - so what can you tell us about
your previous collaborations?

It’s always been a blast. I mean, the beauty of low-budget indie
movies is that most of the stunts have to be done by us, and who
doesn’t like tumbling around in the forest? ;) My personal favorite has
to be the segment we did for the Amityverse anthology,
basically only me, a car, my co-actor, and pitch-black surroundings,
with the only light coming from the taillights of the car
Back to Grace of God: Do talk about the shoot as such,
and the on-set atmosphere!
We found a beautiful little forest where the shoot takes place. As the
sun moves, it makes everything come alive and gives that divine
atmosphere as the light touches the leaves, trees and so on.
Any future projects you'd like to share?
Got another movie project coming up, a pandemic movie and also a role
in a completed horror anthology film coming out later this year.
Still reading through the pandemic movie script, so not much more to
tell at the moment. Thanks for the interview!
Thank you!
