Your upcoming movie Sasquatch vs. Yeti - in a few words, what is it about?

A few words… bad ass creature feature pitting two of the most famous creatures head to head! Okay I know that was more than a few words but I thought what the hell!

Why pit the Sasquatch against the Yeti

Why? Why not? It hasn’t been done yet. Honestly I love both of their myths so I thought why not make them battle each other.

What kind of research did you do on the subject?

I watch tons of documentaries, read tons of articles, and watched good and bad creature features. The bad ones so I know how to make it better.

Quite honestly, how seriously are you taking your premise?

Very serious. It has a little tongue-in- cheek humor, but overall it’s going to be serious.

What can you tell us about your writing partner Keith Parker, and what was writing process like?

Keith I had met at Fright Night Film Fest back in 2010. He’s always been a really nice guy. One day I saw he did the movie Disaster Wars: Tsunami VS Earthquake, and I thought if he could do that and take it seriously he could really help me. And he really did. What he brought to the table was tremendous. As for the process. Well I wrote pretty much wrote half the script and gave him a basic outline of what I wanted as for the middle and ending. He punched up the script, added layers to it, and then finished the rest of the script for me.

Could you talk about your directorial approach to your subject at hand for a bit?

Well I haven’t really directed it but I plan to storyboard, shot list, and get everything organized before we shoot. I’m not the most visual guy so whoever ends up the DP on the project will hopefully be able to bring the visual look on.

No creature feature without creatures - so what can you tell us about the creature costumes and effects in Sasquatch vs. Yeti?

They have been designed by Clay Sayres, who was brought on board by my friend and actor Tony Jones. They look pretty sweet. Regular FX will be done by Michael Slaughter West. I’m excited cause I think its gonna look pretty sweet.

What can you tell us about your key cast, and why exactly these people?

Oh Lord where do I start… Well the character Jack Strong I wrote specifically for Paul Sieber. Paul pretty much is Jack. Wisecracking but can be dramatic when needed. Jackey Hall I’ve been working with for a while now so can’t wait to see her bring Danielle alive. Terry Jernigan has been a big help in getting me started in this business and I appreciate him greatly. He and Paul will work well off each other. He’s playing Ivan.

George Stover I’ve been a fan for a long time as well and am excited to see what he’ll bring. Scott Tepperman of GHI has been an awesome help in getting a lot of the information out there and I don’t see anyone but him playing his part.

Other actors I have to mention is Mindy Robinson [Mindy Robinson interview - click here] who has been also helping out a great deal, Shawn C. Phillips [Shawn C. Phillips interview - click here], Melanie Robel [Melanie Robel interview - click here], Heather Drew, Andrea Marie, Crystal Howell, Mike Holdman, Mel Helfin. All of them have in some way done their part to get the word out. In fact pretty much everyone has. I can’t say the whole cast or it would just keep going on and on. But they were all picked because they fit the parts I was really aiming for and can’t wait to see them bring it to life.

I presume a film with a theme like Sasquatch vs. Yeti requires quite a bit of outdoors-shooting - so what can you tell us about your locations yet?

We’ve got our eyes on a few locations. We need woods. I’d prefer mountains but it's looking like just woods would be enough to really showcase this. It will be shot in Virginia though.

As far as I know, Sasquatch vs. Yeti is still in its fundraising stages - so what can you tell us about your fundraising campaign?

It’s IndieGoGo. We got like 14 days left or so, so we’d love all the help and support we can get!

sasquatch-vs-yeti-fundraiser?show_todos=true

Once the funds are raised, how are you planning to proceed from there, and even though it's probably waaay too early to ask, any idea when and where the film might be released yet?

Once the funds are raised or close enough to it we’ll start pre production then hopefully start production. We wanted to shoot this July but if the money’s not there yet we’ll have to push it back. And as for release, I’d like to not jump the shark on that yet. I have a few venues I’d like to see it at but we have to make it first.

Any future projects beyond Sasquatch vs. Yeti?

We still got Scavenger on its way, then Dracula’s War, and then Scream Queen Campfire the webseries. More on those later as things develop. Also working on a new Scary Story Slumber Party, but those are pretty quick and easy to make compared to a movie of this magnitude.

Anything else you are dying to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask?

The promo is still on its way. Everyones been asking about it. Its in the hands of the Visual FX/Composer and is taking longer than anticipated due to the visual FX we are trying to make it the best we can so I feel bad when people try to rush it cause I don’t want it rushed at all. And when its done you will all be impressed. For now you guys can see the behind the scenes of the promo on the Indiegogo page.
