Your new movie
The Arkansas Pigman Massacre - in a few words, what's it about, and what can you
tell us about your character in it?
It’s a fun little horror movie about a creepy Pigman in the woods of
Arkansas. It’s set in 2004. I play Tracey, a girl who’s going
through a rough time. Her parents are divorced, her mom’s an
alcoholic, and her dad lives really far away. She goes on this
camping trip hoping to get away from it all, but then… well, let’s
just say things get way worse when they run into the Pigman.
What did you draw
upon to bring your character to life, and how much Junie Liv Thomasson can
we find in Tracey? Tracey is kinda based on Tracy from the movie
Thirteen. I really
love that movie, it’s super intense and real, and I felt like I
really got what Tracy was going through. So I wanted to bring that
same kinda energy to my Tracey.
How did you get involved with the project in the first place, what made you want to do it?
Because my best friend, who played Chelsea in the movie, I was
like, oh my God, yes, I want to be in it too, because I really enjoy
making movies with her. It’s so fun, and I’ve done multiple movies
with her. With
The Arkansas Pigman Massacre being a horror movie, and by no
means the first you've been in, is that a genre at all dear to you,
and do you enjoy being in horror? Yes, I love horror movies. Like, I just love the rush I get when
watching them. And when I’m in horror movies, I prefer… well, I
prefer playing, um… I don’t like playing the victim. Because, like,
why would I want to be a victim? And why would I want to be the one
limping around the whole movie. Which, yes, I’ve done before, and
yes, it’s annoying. So, I think I’d definitely rather be the one
doing the killing than the one getting killed.
The Arkansas Pigman Massacre was directed by your fathre Jt
Kris, and this isn't the first time you`ve worked with him - so what
is making movies with him like, and how doesJt the director compare
to Jt your dad?
It's, there's no difference really. He’s pretty much the same at home as shooting, lol.
The Arkansas Pigman Massacre contains lots of running
through the woods and the like - so what kind of fun and/or what
kind of strain has this been for you?
While running through the woods, I fell a lot. And then there was
this one scene where I was supposed to crawl to a bush, but I was
totally in character and kept on crawling all the way into the bush,
going further in and I scraped myself. But it was all worth it for
the laughs. Do talk about the
shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere!
It was really fun. For example, when I’m working with Saga Pernille
Johnsen Muro who played Chelsea, it’s always a good time since we’re best friends. I
joke around a bunch between shots with her. It’s easier to act when
it’s someone you know, because it’s not as awkward.
Any future
projects you'd like to share?
I’m in the Amityverse movie coming out I think this year. And I’m
doing something else soon too.

Anything else you're dying
to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask? Yes, I would love to do a TV show, and I’d really love to work with
Timothée Chalamet or Jensen Ackles. Thanks
for the interview!
