Your new movie Mauler - in a few words, what's it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?

It's probably a story many people can relate to! When your group of friends have a leader that is a little too ambitious and convincing! My character cares a lot about her friends, so I would say she is empathetic, supportive and a lot of fun!!

What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how much Kate Noel can we find in Michelle?

I did have an ever so slightly rebellious teenager phase (sorry mom!), so I really transcended to those times. I do think I am quite an impulsive decision-maker at times so her and I relate in that way.

How did you get involved with the project in the first place, what drew you to it?

I saw the casting notice on Actors Access I believe, it seemed like a fun audition. It was!

With Mauler being a slasher movie, is that a genre at all dear to you? And to what extent could you identify with Mauler's take on slasher cinema?

I do enjoy slasher movies but truthfully only on Halloween. I am quite a scaredy-cat with any horror movie! But there's something so fun that I have to admit about watching a scary movie with your friends and family at night in someone's basement or something. The energy is undoubtably there!

What can you tell us about Mauler's director Terence Bernie Hines, and what was your collaboration like?

Well, Terence is exactly that... collaborative! It was really fun working with him and the entire crew especially during those long night shoots where we were all a little jet-lagged so to speak.

A few words about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?

My cast were the best! We were all so supportive and got each other through every day. It was a joy to come onto set and see everyone. Of course the atmosphere was a little eerie at times because the props and art direction and everything was just sooooo good!

Any future projects you'd like to share?

I was in another feature that's hopefully coming soon! It's based on the director's really wild upbringing and I'm so excited to see it.

What got you into acting in the first place, and did you receive any formal education on the subject?

I was on and off with it since I was 20! I stuck to modeling and then had an epiphany one day when I was 27 that I wanted to commit to act and believe in myself. I had a lot of friends help me along the way.

What can you tell us about your filmwork prior to Mauler?

I did some short films and projects, but I was really only doing commercial acting until then. Mauler is my first feature, I am proud J

How would you describe yourself as an actress, and some of your techniques to bring your characters to life?

My best acting comes from me not being perfectionist and channeling myself and my life authentically. It's all about having a supportive team and direction. It takes a certain brain power and mindset for me to act so I always take time to tap into that.

Actresses (and indeed actors) who inspire you?

Honestly so many. Every time I watch a movie I have a new favorite!

This answer is the same as the last. Like I'm not even kidding I just watched all of the Mission: Impossible movies. I know they aren't my favorite of all time but because I just watched them I'm going to think about them for a few more days until I watch a new movie haha!

I like Silence of the Lambs actually, great music! And Pulp Fiction. This past year I really loved Dune 2 and Anora.
