Your upcoming movie Deep Shock - in a few words, what is it going to be about, and what can you tell us about your character?

My character is Sarah Taylor, the youngest of three sisters. She still has not overcome the death of her grandfather and one of her sisters. This will have consequences I can’t reveal yet. Join us in this wonderful journey we will go on in Deep Shock!

What will you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how much of Laura Toledo will we find in Sarah Taylor?

Sarah is a very deep and complex character. I think it is very interesting to work on her. She is different from me, because, fortunately, I didn't have these kind of experiences.

How did you get involved with the project to begin with, and what can you tell us about your director Davide Melini [Davide Melini interview - click here]?

When Davide contacted me, I read the script and really found it quite interesting. I have never worked in a horror movie, and I'm really happy to do it now. I appreciate when a person focuses on a project from scratch and without help. I have to add that I’m worried a little bit and at the same time, I'm curious about the possibility to work with Davide. I think he's a very talented director from whom I can learn so much.

The crowdfunding campaign for Deep Shock has just begun. Any message to the audience?

Please help us!!! Support this project because there is much love and enthusiasm in it. We have a great team behind the film. They are professionals who really want to make this project a big success. You can donate here:

Any future projects beyond Deep Shock you'd like to share?

Actually I’m working on a theatrical project, but I can reveal nothing yet. I’m very happy about it and I hope I can tell everybody something more very soon.

What got you into acting to begin with, and did you receive any formal training on the subject?

I think it is rather a necessity, a need to tell stories and make public trip with that story. Each of us sometimes needs to dream and relax... to escape from everyday life. My work and of course my family are the only things that make me happy. I cannot be without work! I know very well I cannot stop to study, because I believe that an actor has to train and keep on training. I study and I learn every day.

Can you still remember your first time in front of a movie or TV camera, and what was that experience like?

I remember very well the first time I worked in a TV series. Although it was not the first time that I was in front of a camera, because my career started when I was a kid, I remember I was on set at 6 am, without knowing anyone. It was the scene where I was in bed with my husband (an actor I had never seen before) and I had to be relaxed. It was an awkward scene and suddenly my leg was shaking and I could not control it… hahaha.

Do talk about your involvement in the movie La Herencia Valdemar for a bit, and about your character in it?

It was a very good experience, where I worked with actors from whom I learned a lot. I have great memories… I remember the advices that Paul Naschy [Paul Naschy bio - click here] gave me, Paco Maestre battles, all the funny moments with Daniele Liotti… I was playing Belle Gunnes, a woman who murdered her husbands and then burned herself. It’s a historical figure and it was the first time I worked on a character different from the usual.

Other film and TV work of yours you'd like to talk about?

For every job I did, I carry something with me. In each one of them I have things to say... Maybe my work at the TV series Águila Roja because the feeling with my colleagues was very strong. We did a very good job and I will never forget it.

Over the years, you've also done quite some stagework, right? So what can you tell us about your career as a stage actress, and how does performing on stage compare to acting in front of a camera?

I like theater more, because it has nothing to do with the camera work. The moment is unique and unrepeatable, because the audience is there with you. It is one of the most beautiful things that an actor can live.

Actresses (and indeed actors) who inspire you?

Meryl Streep is one of my references. She always does a precise and concrete job and puts the heart into what she does

Your favourite movies?

Life is Beautiful struck me very deeply, and than I cannot forget The Sleeping Voice and The Green Mile.

... and of course, films you really deplore?

I cannot answer that, because when I don’t like a movie, I forget it immediately, hahaha.

Your website, Facebook, whatever else?

You can find me on my official website (www.lauratoledo.es). I’m also on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/lauratoledoactriz?fref=ts) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/lauratoledo8).

Anything else you are dying to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask?

People want to watch movies, listen to music, go to the theater... and art will disappear if the Government does not support it. Thank you for supporting us!

Thanks for the interview!

Thank you for this opportunity! Thanks, thanks and thanks!!!
