Your upcoming movie Day of the Mummy - in a few words, what is it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?

The film Day of the Mummy is a fast horror/action pack that has intense point of view in the eyes of archaeologist Jack Wells and his crew who are set to explore a  tomb in Egypt, that holds a hidden suprise that will shake every human being in their seats. My character is one of the girlfriends who's involved in a sweet sexy passionate relationship. Covered with gifts and adventures.

What did you draw upon to bring the character to life, and how much of Nimi can we find in Serah?

Well, the one thing that I would say is a little Nimi in Serah would be nosy bee that I am and always prying in people's businesses. I always like to know what is going on and being alert at all times... why I feel God gave me these big eyes, lol!

How did you get involved in the project in the first place, and to what degree could you identify with the movie's horror theme?

I was referred by someone about the film and when I recieved the directors contact information I submitted my material to to him and he stated I was perfect for the role. He was going for a more exotic feel.

photo shoot in Santa Monica Beach

What was it like to act opposite veteran actors like Danny Glover and William McNamara?

The actors in this film are amazing!!! Very talented and very professional. They made the set fun. As you can see in the trailer it's very gripping and it keeps you wanting more. Every time I watched their scene take place it made me smile just to know that I am working with highly talented beings. I am ever so grateful.

What can you tell us about your director Johnny Tabor, and your collaboration with him?

Johnny Tabor has a very strong vision and knows what he wants and how to get the perfect shots needed on set. He made being on set very comfortable.

A few words about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?

Being on set is like myself walking into a family. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging. It makes being on set feel so good. I never wanted to leave.

Any future projects you'd like to share?

Currently, I have a few auditions lined up some callbacks and a few projects that have not been set in stone just yet.
I just wrapped a film titled Slackers in Space and was just at the televised African Oscar Awards recently. It was an honor to be able to reward talented Nollywood actors for their hard work.

What got you into acting to begin with, and what can you tell us about your education on the subject?

My acting experience first blossomed when I was in the 9th grade with my first stage play titled Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. My role was grandma Georgina. From there on that has always been my love. I came to the Los Angeles to study at Stella Adler School of Theater and Acting.

Can you still remember your first time in front of a camera, and what was that experience like?

Yes, my first time in front of a camera was very comfortable for me because I always felt that was when I can actually shine. I have always wanted to do film, it's been my dream job, but I give many thanks to theater because it made me a better actress I am today. I still go back to theater every now and then if I am not filming to capture that fresh, raw, vulnerable experience I crave and yearn to feel.

What can you tell us about your filmwork prior to Day of the Mummy?

My previous film was titled Blackbird which starred Monique and Isaiah Washington. I was an eye witness to an almost occurring murder. I had a short scene in it, but it was a very intense one. Very memorable for me. Prior to that is the Whitney Houston Story, which is set to air next year. I was very excited about this film because I was Whitney's assistant. Whitney Houston is known for her many performances and lifestyle. You will definitely see that in this film.

Besides being an actress, you're also a fashion model - so how does modeling compare to acting, and does one help with the other?

Modeling for me also fits into acting. Everyone feels like one can't express themselves unless they speak, when realistically you get to know so much more when one is silent. If words were never verbal so much can be dealt in the eyes and body. What we feel and take in through our day to day life begins to spuce through out the body.

You're also a musician, right? So what can you tell us about your music?

Yes, I am. My last single Let Me Go is a single about the battle self vs self. I know everyone in this world battles with something within their self that they are not happy about. Inner conflict. To the point of self harm they do cause themselves.

How would you describe yourself as an actress, and some of your techniques to bring your characters to life?

One of my acting teachers at Stella Adler said that I am a kinetic actress. A kinetic actress is when someone moves around in the space they are given and it helps them bring out the most genuine emotion that being is currently facing. When I am moving and improvising my scene it helps me connect to my character a little more and helps me understand who or what "she" is.

Actresses (and indeed actors) who inspire you?

My list of powerhouse actors I love is: Angelina Jolie, Denzel Washington and Scarlett Johansson.

Your favourite movies?

I really do not have a favorite movie because I have a lot of genres I love and my movie love changes so much!

... and of course, films you really deplore?

Well to be quite frank every movie I have watched I have liked. If I do not feel a movie has captured my interest within the trailer I just do not go and see it.

Your website, Facebook, whatever else?

I tell people to follow me on my Instagram which is Therealnimi, Twitter: Actressnimi, and my Facebook to keep connected as Actress Nimi.

Anything else you are dying to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask?

I just recently booked a print ad for a popular brand, which is set to shoot next week. I am very, very excited.
