Your upcoming movie Create Your Killer - in a few words, what is it
about?
Create Your Killer is about Amanda, Adam and Isabella who are at home
playing videogames one Saturday evening, when suddenly they find a VHS-tape
with the game ‘’Create Your Killer’’ and everything changes.
With Create Your Killer paying hommage to slasher movies
and videogames, are these things you enjoy in your personal lives, and do
talk about their influence on your movie for a bit!
I do love slasher movies and I grew up watching them,
with Scream being one of my favorites, so this is my chance to pay respect
and homage to those movies. I grew up playing mostly Super Mario games,
but I have a lot of hardcore gaming friend and I want to celebrate the
videogame community as well.
(Other) sources of inspiration when writing Create Your Killer?
Funny horror comedies.
Do talk about your movie's approach to horror! I
knew that I wanted to make this movie funny, a lot funnier than my other
movies that have been very serious. I have always loved horror comedies
and have always wanted to create one, so this is me taking the first step
into the wonderful world of horror comedies. I also wanted to approach
videogames in a unexpected way and to blend horror and videogames in my
own way.

What
can you tell us about Create Your Killer's intended overall look
and feel? Well it has a kind of The Babysitter vibe
to it, but I also wanted to be a bit silly at some points and throw in
some gore. You'll also play one of the leads in Create
Your Killer - so what can you tell us about your character, how much
Sarah Giercksky can we find in her, and have you written her with yourself
in mind from the get-go? Yes I wrote the character
with myself in mind, but there isn’t as much of the real Sarah Giercksky
in here as there was in my character Elina in Sargad. Do talk about the rest of your
tentative cast for a bit, and why exactly these people?
Emanuel Markskog |
I
had written the character of Amanda with Jasmine Martinez in mind and I wanted
nobody else to play this part, and I am so happy that she said yes. We held
an audition to find the guy who was going to play Adam and after having a
long day of auditions and watching a lot submission tapes, we found he very
talented Emanuel Markskog who will fit perfectly. I also brought back
Alicia Henriksson for a fun part, she played my mom in my feature film Sargad. Mikael Björkman has also joined in for a very special part. You're
currently running a fundraiser for Create Your Killer - so what can
you tell us about your campaign?

We still have a few
weeks left of the campaign and we do have great perks. You can have your
name in the credits, get a signed photo/poster or get a link to the
finished movie so that you will be able to watch it. We also have a few
other great perks and one of them includes a hand painted poster by the
vey talented artist Simon Pritchard. Since this movie might be hard to
find after it is done, I would recommend grabbing the perk wih the link to
the finished film.

Once the budget's in
place, what's the schedule - and any idea when and where the movie might
be released yet? We will film this by the end of
March 2019 and hoping to be able to get the movie out to festivals by
fall/winter of 2019.

Any future projects beyond Create
Your Killer? I am acting in a few horror
projects, but I think towards the end of next year or early 2020 it is
definitely time to make another feature film. Your/your movie's website, Facebook,
