Carrie Condor has dreamed of receiving a (sexual) spanking ever since
she has read about it in Playboy magazine. And then, at her 21st birthday,
she's out in a bar drinking and she meets a man who offers to go home with
her and spank her. He won't tell her his name even, just asks her to refer
to him as The Spanking Man. Against all reason, Carrie accepts his offer,
takes him home with her, strips naked in front of him and lets him spank
her silly. She has an orgasm while he does so ... but he later refuses to
have sex with her, tells her to be a good girl, and leaves. Carrie has
enjoyed this spanking very much, and against all odds fallen in love with
The Spanking Man - a man she knows nothing about ... but everytime she
behaves like a bad girl, he shows up out of nowhere and administers
another spanking. They never have sex, it's just spanking, and sometimes
the spankings are very much on the painful side. As mentioned, Carrie does
enjoy being spanked, and she has no problems sleeping around or having
lesbian sex even - oh, especially lesbian sex, she knows the spanking man
will punish her extra hard for that. Once though she invites The Spanking
Man to a lesbian spanking party, and sees him not only spank her four
friends she sometimes has orgies with, but also fuck all of them, just not
her - which comes as quite a bit of a disappointment to Carrie, as he
still refuses to have sex with her. Eventually, Carrie wants to find out
more about The Spanking Man, like his true identity, but all of her
attempts fail rather miserably. She even suspects him to be some kind of
demon ... but he spanks that idea out of her. Problems only start then
Carrie's regular lovers start dying - now it doesn't look as if any of
them are actually killed, but three in a row is more than a bit
suspicious, and Carrie thus starts worrying ... especially since despite
of everything she won't let go of The Spanking Man and his spankings ...

Now
The Spanking Man isn't great literature, and in all probability was
never meant to be - writer D.P. Adamov writes for a very specific niche
market of erotic literature, even of SM literature, it's for people into
spankings. So much of this book is made up of rather detailed spanking
scenes, description of implements and the pain they cause, and the like.
There are also a few vanilla sex scenes, but the description of these is
less explicit. But all of this is not to say Adamov isn't a gifted
storyteller as well: Even though the surprise ending might come as less of
a surprise than intended, the way there - and through all the spankings -
shows rather accomplished writing, narrative build-up and atmospheric
scenes that make this book work as a horror novel as well. So you might
even enjoy it if you're not at all into spankings - but it certainly helps
... If that has at all sparked your interest (or turned you
