Every bounty hunter in the West is on the trail of Brisco County jr
(Bruce Campbell) for the murder of a crooked banker, a murder he didn't
commit but witness, and now Brisco's on the trail of the real killer, Big
Smith (M.C. Gainey), one of the killers of his father back when, and
apparently presently in the possession of the orb, which gives him
superhuman powers. Of course, being on the run from bounty hunters doesn't
help Brisco in his mission, and especially one Crystal Hawks (Sheena
Easton) is very capable of capturing him, but not as capable in keeping
him. Eventually Brisco can convince Crystal to work with him, as another
man who's on the trail of Smith and the orb is John Bly (Billy Drago),
Brisco's arch enemy, and the bounty on him is much higher than on Brisco.
Eventually, Brisco finds out that Smith has been apprehended by
gouvernment agents and kept at a secret location, as the gouvernment is
also interested in the orb, and Brisco, Crystal, and Brisco's friends
Socrates (Christian Clemenson) and Lord Bowler (Julius Carry) are able to
find that secret location. And when Brisco confronts Smith he finds him a
changed man, who's not only willing to face the consequences of killing
Brisco's father, he also killed the banker only by accident when
confronting him for stealing money from his brother's (Harry Woolf)
church, and he's more than willing to make a statement to clear Brisco's
name. So happy end? Not quite, as John Bly has of course followed Brisco's
trail, and he'll stop at nothing to get the orb ...
Not an all that special episode of the series, but still fun,
thanks to Bruce Campbell's very winning, self-ironic performance, and also
he and Sheena Easton have the right sort of chemistry to make the story
work.
