Having been summoned by the orb scholare Dr. Ogden (Brandon Maggart) [from the episode The Orb Scholar], bounty hunters Brisco (Bruce Campbell) and Lord Bowler (Julius Carry) run not into him but into his daughter Lillian (Terri Ivens), and can only just save her from a gang of good-looking hoodlums (Wolf Larson, Dan Blom, Blake Adams, Gregg Thomsen), and then promise her to help her track down her father - with some success, as they really find Dr. Ogden but have to learn Lillian has tricked them, has been in league with her abductors from earlier, and they all work together with Brisco's arch enemy Bly (Billy Drago), who desparately wants to get his hands on the orb, and Dr. Ogden's the only one who knows where the thing is hidden. And why is Lillian working with Bly? Because she's in need of rejuvenating medicine that can only be produced with the help of the orb - as it turns out later, she's actually Ogden's mother, not his daughter, who in her 90s is still desparately holding onto life. Somehow, Lillian can make the good doctor spill the beans, but then Bly cuts her and her gang out of the deal and takes Ogden captive to lead him to the orb. Though incapacitated for a while thanks to Lillian's treachery, Brisco and Bowler soon pick up pursuit but eventually find themselves lost - and enter their employer Socrates Poole (Christian Clemenson), who has just been handed some orb tracking device by a Chinaman (James Hong) that's somehow connected to Brisco's gun, and eventually they catch up with Bly just when he's about to absorb the power of the orb, and then Brisco shoots him with a special bullet that makes him prisoner of the orb instead. Oh, and by the way, Bly was a time traveller from the future, too.

Now there sure is some fun in this one, the prettyboy gang Lillian has employed that was modelled after/a parody of then popular western Young Guns is pretty hilarious, Brisco, Bowler and Poole once again show their fun comedy dynamics with one another, and there are some fun action setpieces to keep one well entertained - but in all, this episode is just a bit too esoteric, packs too much basically supernatural stuff into its story to remain properly convincing throughout, and thus certain plotpoints seem above everything else far-fetched and thus untrue, making this, despite bringing a whole story arc (Brisco's pursuit of Bly) to an end one of the lesser episodes of the series.
