Nick (Nick Forrest) and Bobbie Sue (Sarah Kobel Marquette) just got
married and are now crossing the countryside to get to their honeymoon
destination ... and they couldn't be happier - until they cross paths with
a gang of Satanic bikers (aptly called Satan's Sinners) who
cold-bloodedly kill Nick and take Bobbie Sue captive to eventually be
their virgin sacrifice for Satan. And let's be quite clear here, these
bikers aren't just mucking about, they are actually undead bikers brought
back to life by the Devil himself with the exact mission to get him a
virgin - seems they have succeeded then, and now all they have to do is
wait for the right time to sacrifice the girl in a dive in the middle of
nowhere, right? Well, wrong of course, because one mustn't forget God
(Joseph Sullivan) ... oh, don't get me wrong, God is not really scared of
one virgin sacrifice by a gang of dirty bikers, but he's just curious how
things might develop - so he brings Nick back to life to save his Bobbie
Sue ... but Nick, not exactly a fighter by nature, is killed again in no
time. But hey, it's not beyond God to bring him back to life again ... and
again ... and again - figuring eventually the guy just has to succeed -
but does he? Especially if you're into exploitation, drive-in
and/or trash cinema, you'll love All Hell Breaks Loose, a film that
blends a busload of genres and subgenres in a light-footed way, doesn't
let plausibility stand in the way of telling a fun story ... and yes, the
movie first and foremost tells a fun story. Sure, the story element might
be stolen from a few dozen movies from the 1960s and 70s, the characters
might all be caricatures, and the humour might lean towards the gross-out
side of things - and all of this is exactly what makes this film
entertaining: It's not a movie that takes itself seriously, much less asks
you to do so, it just offers a fun ride with bullets and boobs, guns and
gore, its tongue firmly in cheek, and its humour definitely on the dark
side of things.
