During her pregnancy, Helen is kidnapped by Satanists who curse her
unborn, then she's released. Once the kid is born, he has the tendency to turn
into a demon in times of stress, much to his mother's shock. Also, he
kills his father while still a baby in what only looks like an accident. Over
the years, Helen has more and more problems dealing with her demon son,
so much so that she tries to kill him, but just can't. A good friend of
hers, Anthony, suggests she should instead show him unconditional love,
and maybe a move to a new neighbourhood would also help to leave the sad
memories behind ... Years later: The change of scenery seems to have
worked, Helen's kid Devon (Ian Veneracion) has turned into a normal
teenager, hasn't turned into a demon in years, and has found a soulmate in
blind Angela (Jennifer Sevilla). Then though he falls in love with Carrie,
and even though she's the girlfriend of local prettyboy Joshua (Michael
Locsin), she feels some affection for him. Devon and Joshua become rivals
over Carrie and eventually decide to have
a bicycle race over Carrie, which Devon would have won if it wasn't for an
accident. Devon is so enraged about this that he turns into a demon for
the first time in years ... Later, Devon and Joshua get into another
fight over Carrie, in which Joshua is accidently pushed over a cliff. He
only just survives. Devon is so shocked by this that he wants to throw
himself off the same cliff, but is saved by Angela. Anthony has heard
about Devon's problems and suggests to hold a memorial service at his
father's grave to calm the boy, but during the service, his father comes
back to life as a zombie and attacks Devon. The priest in charge is quick
to chase zombie dad away with holy water, but accidently splashes some on
Devon too, which turns him into a demon before the eyes of everyone. Devon
makes an escape ... The following days, demon attacks are reported
everywhere, and of course everyone suspects Devon, but there is another
demon around, Anthony, who in his human form lures demon Devon into the
lair of the Satanists who want to make him one of their fighters - but
they have also kidnapped Angela, and her love makes Devon oppose the
Satanists and fight demon Anthony, helped by the local priest who has followed him
to the place. In the end, the priest manages to kill Anthony and make the
Satanists' cavern cave in - and Devon is allowed to die a hero's death when
he uses his body to protect Angela from debris from the collapsing cave. Though
based on a popular Filippino comic, one can't help but see the Western
influences on this film: It starts out like The Omen, but later it
resembles more Teen Wolf and any number of teen flicks from the
1980's (with and without horror elements). All of this unfortunately
doesn't add up to a good movie, only yet another lame teen shocker. And
despite a rather funny demon makeup (basically a hairy face and devil's
horns) and the occasional fun scene (like zombie dad attacking from his
grave or the priest wrestling a demon), this isn't a movie you need to have seen.
