Martial arts wise Vietnam veteran turned mercenary Kell (Jimmy Broome)
has made it his favourite pastime to dress up prostitutes in bridal gowns,
kill them, cut off their ringfingers, and send the fingers to rock singer
Delilah (Jessica Mark) - who by the way seems to perform topless in all of
her shows. Understandably, this scares Delilah shitless, so she hires
tough-as-nails private eye Brit (Charlie Spradling) as her bodyguard. But
Brit hasn't even started to work on her job when Kell pays her a visit to
brutally kill her - which brings her half-sister Jo (Maria Ford) onto the
scene, a cop who decides to pick up where Brit has left off, this way
avenging Brit and doing her job at the same time - ah yeah, and also
taking over Brit's cop-boyfriend Aaron (Antonio Bacci). However, Delilah
isn't only threatened by Kell, but also by mafia boss Luso (Bob
McFarland), who has made her a star but now wants to collect her life
insurance. So while Jo kills herself through Luso and his men, she and
Aaron also try to track down Kell, who almost kills Aaron when they get
too close. Despite Jo's best efforts to guard her though, Kell manages
to kidnap Delilah in the finale, and he prepares to marry and kill her in
his warehouse guarded by his mercenary pals - but Jo and Aaron make their
way through the mercenaries, killing them left and right before fighting,
defeating and killing Kell in an extended showdown before he can do any
harm to Delilah. One question remains: Why was Kell so fixated on
Delilah? - A question the film leaves unanswered. A bad film no
matter which way you look at it: The plot is as silly as it is derivative,
the actors are mediocre at best and not at all helped by the stupid
dialogues they have to fight through, and the film's many excuses to show
women topless are at times ridiculous ... and yet, you might
find yourself liking Angel of Destruction better than you thought
you would, and maybe it is for its derivative, silly and sensationalist
screenplay, maybe it's for its many unnecessary topless scenes (with an
extended fightscene with Maria Ford dressed only in a thong taking top
honours), maybe it's for the sexy outfits Maria Ford wears throughout the
movie, but maybe it's also for the straight-forewardness of the whole thing: Angel
of Destruction seems to know it's little more than a pulpy piece of
trash, but it makes no excuses for it and shows no pretentions. It just is
what it is, and that's by no means a masterpiece ... but that doesn't mean
you cannot enjoy it for what it is ... By the way, reportedly
this film was originally to have starred Charlie Spradling, but when she
refused to do the topless fighting scene, her character was simply killed
off and her stepsister (played by Maria Ford) was written into the movie to
fill in for her.
