It should have been a perfectly relaxed camping trip when Dylan (Dante B.
Salazar) drove his 13 year old sister Chelsea (Saga Pernille Johnsen Muro)
and her best friend Tracey (Junie Liv Thomasson) out into the woods
to enjoy mother nature. But then during a toilet break he's pulled out of
the car by a man in an axe carrying pig mask, who drags him off into the
woods. After a momentof shock-induced paralysis, the girls follow but lose
their trail in the dark - and soon they also lose their way and are lucky
to at least find a tent to spend the night in. It's not until the next
morning that they catch up with Dylan and the Pigman - to witness the
latter torturing the former almost to death. Then the Pigman notices the
girls - and decides to go after them next ... Fan favourite Eric Roberts
makes a cameoas Trracey's dad. Now I won't say that
The Arkansas Pigman Massacre re-invents survival horror
in the slightest, a lean micro-budget suspense piece with all the action,
jump scares and violence in all the right places. And the two protagonists
are rather convincing in their roles, especially given their young age,
while the breathtaking outdoor locations reall set the righ tone for an
entertainning genre ride. |
