Mike Brown (Christopher Lee-Power) is best when he's doing his job: As
local politician he's very proficient when it comes to spot what to
improve for his community, and he sure has the rhetoric skills to sell it,
too. However he's unable to translate these talents into his private life,
as he fails to find the right emotion (or really see the necessity) to
congratulate his daughter (Chloe Dwerryhouse) on passing an important
exam, and doesn't see his son's (Leo Hewitson) objections to his behaviour
even ... I probably ought to add to above synopsis that this is
an autism awareness movie, depicting several symptoms of the Aspergers
Syndrome, as the movie itself does in its prologue, and it certainly helps
understand the main character. And that in mind, Christopher Lee-Power
does a great job portraying him, giving the character a natural
vulnerability that makes his eccentricities relatable, and he's of course
helped by his solid co-stars, a strong script, and a suitably subtle
direction, to make this a rather compelling short.
