On their way to the cabin where it all started (see the first Evil
Dead), Ash (Bruce Campbell) and his sidekicks Pablo (Ray
Santiago), Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) and Amanda (Jill Marie Jones) make a
stop at a local militia their friend Lem (Peter Feeney) has referred them
to to pick up some firepower - to learn that they're not only not welcome
by the militia and suspected to be gouvernment agents, but also that the
militia is especially unfond of Lem, who has since Ash last saw him into a
deadite and has taken out quite some of their rank. Now this is something
Ash and company could help with of course, but the militia's content in
locking the possessed Lem inside their bunker, and Ash and Amanda with him
while Pablo and Kelly manage to make an escape and have to launch a daring
rescue mission while being attacked by militia-turned-deadite. But a few
explosions, decapitations and other gory stuff later the area is made
deadite-free and the militia are all cuffed up for Ash and company to take
their firepower to use where really needed ... In the meantime, Ruby
(Lucy Lawless), who vanished in a fire last
episode, rises from the ashes to continue her hunt for Ash. More
fun in the vein the series has followed since inception, blood and guts
and situation comedy about people not really up for the task they're
facing, spiced with Bruce Campbell as the genre's most fallible hero with
traces of 80s action characters and ill-placed oneliners, made all the
funnier by Campbell's delivery. Might not be classic TV, but it's really
hard not to laugh during this.
