Henry (Adam Rifkin) is a measly office worker who's just so
run-of-the-mill even his pregnant wife Dora (Jennifer Morrison) considers
him boring. Then he meets an old friend fron college, Jerry
(Constantine Paraskevopoulos), who's the polar opposite of his, outgoing,
ready for adventure and always up for playing pranks - and this unveils
another side of Henry's, that of Jerry's congenial partner-in-prank, and
soon the two are back to their college personas, two friends who
constantly play pranks on one another. And Dora somehow likes this new
side of her husband. What she might not like quite as much should she find
out is that Jerry's fiancée Anita (Anita Briem). a stripper withj a
perfect body, has caught Henry's eye, and he hers as well, and soon they
start writing secret messages to one another and she sends him little
clips of her in lingerie. Now that's not ideal in itself, but it's made
worse by the fact that after a time Jerry starts noticing there might be
another man in Anita's life, and since he's with Homeland Security and has
access to all her devices (even if that's an abuse of power), he's due to
find out with whom - and eventually, his pranks on Henry turn more and
more cruel ,,, Now I won't say BFFs is a perfect
movie, it's just too over-the-top at sometimes, at others too mean to be
funny, but that said, when its jokes land they land hard, and all's helped
by the chemistry of the two leads who really seem to embody their roles.
On top of that, the film's paced well enough to accept the bad with the
good and ultimately provide a very entertaining ride.
