The Magister (Markus Salo) is the high priest of a Satanic cult, one
where the members are raped at their initiation and then given
nightmare-inducing drugs and the like. But he is also a producer of
rape-and-snuff movies that star the girls who want out of his cult. Young
Linda (Anne Rajala) has just had a row with her parents (Eva Sundgren,
Mika Vatullainen), so she runs away and moves in with Paula, who just
happens to ber a member of the Magister's cult. She soon persuades Linda
to join the cult as well, but then has second thoughts and wants out. The
Magister sees a perfect chance to make another of his movies and even
presells it, but then Paula shoots herself before the film is shot, and
now the Magister is left without a star and is looking for a replacement -
which he soon finds in Linda, who has second thoughts about joining the
cult as well ... Linda's parents are desperately trying to find Linda,
but the Satanists soon notice that someone's on their trail, and the
Magister has Linda's mom raped before the eyes of her other daughter Laura. After
this experience, mom kills herself. Dad is more successful in tracking
down Linda, but then he is captured by the Magister's men, tied up and
forced to watch how Linda is gangraped and then killed on film, then dad
is killed too. As the only survivor of her family, Laura turns to a
priest - who just happens to be an abusive pig in league with the
Satanists ... Low budget horror flick with torture porn elements
that seems to be hell-bent on adding nothing new or original to the
genre. Instead it just tells an often-told tale once again, using images
and whole sequences that have been done better elsewhere, accompanied by a
soundtrack that's nothing but a cliché. Only the finale, in which pretty
much all of the protagonists die, is a bit of a surprise, but then it
comes much too suddenly and fails to properly tie up all the narrative
threads. In all, a disappointment.
