Traci (Kaley Ball) has just come out of an abusive relationship with
Ben (Jordan Boyd), but as she isn't willing to give up sex just because
she has no regular boyfriend, she has an affair with John (David
Moncrief), not intending to let this get too serious ... but then she
finds out she's pregnant, and decides to have an abortion. At the abortion
clinic, she runs across two guys in baby masks who picket the place with
signs saying "blessed are the children" and "God hates
you", but the doctor assures Traci they are harmless and never hurt
anybody. Thing is, they start following Traci, and eventually gain access
to the house Trace lives in with her best friends (Keni Bounds, Arian
Thigpen) - to hide and wait. Because to avenge the foetus Traci had
aborted, they think they need to brutally kill not only Traci but also all
who are involved with her ... Blessed are the Children
is a mean little horror movie, one that's good at playing with genre
conventions and more often than not turning them on their heads (there's
no way one can guess who survives, and who dies first), and the film's
sprinkled with some pretty nasty murder scenes that are sure to shock.
Plus, the killers' baby masks couldn't be any creepier. And add to all of
that a pretty decent cast, and you've got yourself a winner.
