Because she has been seduced by half-man-half-crocodile Jabbar, Leha is
expelled from her village to have her child, Nur, in a cave. Jabbar is
also a black magician who is eventually decapitated by white magician
Komar, but that doesn't keep him from caring for his lover and daughter -
however, when he shows himself to Leha in his decapitated state, it scares
her so much that she bangs her head and dies. Finding her mom dead, Nur
runs away in panic - and is eventually picked up by a hunter, who brings
her home to his wife, who brings Nur up as her own daughter. Years later:
Nur is engaged to be married to Jun, but she just can't open to him
sexually out of fears she would kill him. Her fears are not all that
unfounded though, since she does indeed turn into an crocodile when a gang of
ruffians try to gangrape her. On Nur's wedding night, her headless dad
Jabbar comes for a visit and has no problems in awakening the crocodile
side in her ... Fortunately though, dad's fiercest enemy Komar shows up as
well, and he manages to defeat and kill Jabbar in a magic duel, turning
Nur in a very normal woman (and wife) at last. Even though it
shows shades of Jacques Tourneur's horror masterpiece Cat People, Buaya
Putih is actually trash as trash can, a cheaply produced and a
tad mindless creature feature full of rather basic special effects
(including plenty of crocodile heads flying around) - but it has a certain
honesty and a certain exotic flair to it that make it fun to watch
anyways, despite its shortcomings in almost every department.
