Harry Morton (Hal March) has a new secretary, and his wife Blanche (Bea
Benaderet) - influenced by her neighbour Gracie Allen - thinks it's a
gorgeous blonde, and is fuming with jealousy ... until Harry tells her his
secretary is actually a man. And to prove her, he even promises to bring
the secretary in question (Played by Jim Benson) to dinner to George Burns
and Gracie Allen this evening - a dinner which Gracie totally messes up of
course with her confusing and confused behaviour, while the show's
announcer Bill Goodwin relentlessly tries to promote the show's (real
life) producer Carnation Evaporated Milk. Harrison Muller sr and
Bob Fosse can be seen doing a dancing routine with George Burns. There
is not much of a story in this episode, and somehow the narrative goes
missing time and again, but there are enough funny oneliners and hilarious
situations to make up for these shortcomings and turn it into an enjoyable
show nevertheless.
