All Otto (Paul Chomicki) wants is to get back together with his
highschool sweetheart Allison (Summer Ferguson). All his somewhat mean
halfbrother Caesar (Dave Campfield) really wants is to finally become an
actor of repute. Somehow, to achieve these goals both of them have to
become travelling Santas ... even though Caesar hates Santa ever since
gramps (Lloyd Kaufman) told him a proper horror story about the character.
Caesar and Otto also have a flatmate now, Damian (Deron Miller), who just
happens to work at the same travelling Santa company ... but he's actually
a maniac who kills in a Santa costume. Oh, and he goes through Caesar and
Otto's address books to find more and more people to kill, including
Caesar's agent (Linnea Quigley) and Otto's psycho-ex (Brinke Stevens).
Caesar and Otto are of course way too busy pursuing their goals to even
notice ... Eventually, Allison is abducted by Damian, and now Caesar and
especially Otto do take notice, and in their doomed-to-fail attempts to
save her, they rather by accudent blow up Damian. Happy ending then? Hell
no, because Damian was only a small wheel in a Satanic (or is that
Santanic) cult ... One of the films where you have to stay until the
credits are over by the way, because iconic Robert Z'Dar's end credit
punchline is hilarious. Simply put, one mad movie. Now sure
enough, not all jokes work equally well, and sometimes character
motivations are slightly off, but that said, the whole thing's very well
paced, knows how to surprise despite essentially being a formula movie,
there's plenty of gore to satisfy any horror fan and sick jokes to go with
it, and of course, with Brinke Stevens, Linnea Quigley and Debbie Rochon
(as 911-phone operator) giving tongue-in-cheek performances ... what could
go wrong, right? Sure, it might not be Citizen Kane, but grabe a few brews
and a few mates, and you WILL be greatly entertained!!!
