Two siblings (Anne-Carolyne Binette and Tristan McIntosh), now grown
up, remember a very weird puppet show from their childhood that ran on a
public access channel, and especially its last episode that had all the
puppets just screaming in terror, the whole show through. They find the
VHS tapes from back then, but to their disappointment, these only show
static throughout - or do they ... Candle Cove is no
direct adaptation of the Creepy Pasta story of the same name -
http://www.creepypasta.org/creepypasta/candle-cove
- but is playing a riff on it as it completely throws out the story's
narrative structure but not the ending ... and it still works, with the
whole thing leading up to a point of very effective creepiness - which is
also thanks to the subtle, unassuming directorial approach and very
relatable performances. It may be only two minutes long,
but it's sure to send a chill up your spine ... ... and of
course, if this has at all piqued your interest, you may watch the whole
thing here:
