He's (Douglas Reese) only 24, and he already has two eight year old
daughters (Braelyn Riggs, Rylee Riggs). Not that he has ever spent much
time with them, they live with their mom whom he has long separated from
and who thinks he's a loser and leaves her daughters in no doubt about it
... but this weekend, the two girls are his responsibility - and he
completely messes things up, fails to control his temper, hasn't got any
food for them, really doesn't know how to at least keep them entertained
... and when he's called away on an errand, he just leaves them behind,
expecting them to occupy themselves. But when he returns, they are gone
... Amateur auteur filmmaker Douglas Reese made this film based
on a screenplay dreamed up by his real life 8 year old siblings (and
stars) Braelyn and Rylee Riggs - and the result is actually much more
mature than the idea might sound, as the story, as skeletal as it might
be, is quite powerful, all three actors are really into their roles, and
as a director, Reese knows how to get the maximum atmosphere out of very
little. Well worth a watch.
