On their way through the middle of nowhere, the car of a group of
youngsters breaks down, and with no cellphone reception, they feel very
lucky to stumble upon the cabin of Mike (Alston W. Huff), on first sight
an oddball and a hermit, but also nice enough to let them stay for the
night and feed them. Thing is, Mike has a sister (Hannah Andersen), and
she's apparently in league with some demon (John Sevoro), the two of which
hunt them down one by one ... Daughter of the Lake is a
very well-directed, atmospheric and effective horror thriller - that
unfortunately can't hide the fact that its story is totally clichéed and
its acting is a bit on the uneven side. It's still a good watch and fun
ride, it just ... well, could have been even better.
