15 years ago, little Devin (Shane Carther Thomas) has killed his father
(Douglas Myers) on Christmas Eve. Since then he has spent his life in a
catatonic state at an asylum - but after all these years Devin (now played by Samuel Nathan
Hoffmire) has broken out ... and a masked maniac starts killing off the
friends of his sisters (Monique La Barr, Leah Grimsson), who are currently
preparing a Christmas play at the community center - and of course they
freak out when they learn that Devin has broken out of the asylum. But
when Devin turns up at the center, he proves to be a rather likeable
fellow, while his mum (Felissa Rose) turns out to be the real psycho, who
hasn't only killed her daughters' friends but also her own hubby 15 years
ago because he was shagging the au pair (Noa Geller), and she only later made
Devin admit to it to save herself from punishment. Devin and his
sisters manage to take care of mad mum though, and in the end he emerges the hero
of the day. Low budget slasher that has Halloween
written all over it, and apart from presenting mum as the killer in a
surprise twist ending (which is way more predictable than the filmmakers
intended though), the film has little to add to its blueprint. A few
interesting characters (interesting only by slasher standards though) and
ok performances (again, by slasher standards) make this at least watchable
but can't save the film from pointlessness.
