Jason (Austin Quinn) is known among his co-eds as the resident
conspiracy theorist - and thus not taken too seriously ... by all but by
Kary (Kelly Nicole), who actually sees some sense in what he's saying, and
who actually helps him by getting him a book he desperately needs for his
research. Now she wants to persuade him to visit certain spots described
in the book, but he has to postpone, so she goes on her own - and seems to
disappear from the face of the earth in the process. After quite some
research, Jason finds out where she must have gone to, follows her, gets
sucked into a lake she must have crossed - and wakes up where he'd least
expect ... Very much in the vein of Twilight
Zone, this pilote episode of The Devil's Pit lays
good groundwork for the series by telling a conceptually interesting story
in an engaging, character-centric way that leaves plenty of room for
guessing and is graced by a surprise ending that doesn't make the mistake
of over-explaining things and thus robbing them of their mystery. If
this has at all gotten you interested, you might want to watch the whole
