The future, a galaxy far far away, or in fact very close, whichever you
choose: Once upon a time, Captain Pixws (voiced by Giovanni De Giorgi) was
a big ass rockstar ... but since then, the galaxy has grown cold, King
Grigorio (Marco Antonio Andolfi) has come into power with his weird
fitness plans to keep his populace warm, his once-confidant Bakterio
Piloro (voiced by Alessandro Bianchi) has become his biggest enemy, and
somehow, Pixws has been relegated to deliver tanning showers to every
corner of the universe ... well, no wonder that he and his crew have grown
tired of this, and soon look for lucrative if illegal sidejobs - which
eventually take them to the rogue planet Nemesis, where Pixws discovers a
lot of things wrong with his galaxy - but also that he might have been
played for a fool ... To simply try to pin down Dolcezza
Extrema by its synopsis wouldn't be fair at all, as on the surface it
reads like a mere space opera with more than a few parallels to the Star
Wars series - and that would simply be missing the point as this
movie is quite simply insane: It's a no budget science fiction piece
starring mostly sock puppets made out of recycled material - which shows
but is still extremely effective -, inhabiting a world of sex and crime
and blood and guts, all of which captured in many a trippy sequence, even
including some song-and-dance scenes ... and the whole thing's just
out-of-this-world. Now of course, if you're into politically correct
movies that clearly follow a three-act structure and are tailored along a
cookie cutter formula, you might be wrong here, but if you're open-minded,
prepare to get your mind blown ... in a good way!
