All Simon (Neil Stevens) wants/needs is a plumber to fix his toilet -
but he accidently calls a company that remodels people ... and he figures
why not start with his girlfriend (Meg Saricks), and the results are more
than satisfying - for him, the remodeling process was less than
pleasurable for her -, so he figures why not have other people
"remodeled". And of course, Simon conveniently ignores the
repercussions this might bring ... In all, Don't Call
630-296-7536 is good fun first and foremost in a way a macabre short
story tends to be fun - the lead character is likeable and relateable
enough, the film has some mean spirit to it, and the final twist does pack
a punch. But that said, it's not completely perfect, some elements here
could have been worked out more or timed better. But it's a film that
shows much promise all the same and certainly worth its 6 or so minutes
running time.
