Sarah (Sonya Richards)
is a single mother who tries to stay afloat of things - but most of the
time fails miserably, especially when it comes to her daughter Emma (Julia
Little), even if she loves the girl beyond everything. However, the girl*s
father Jake (Ryan Nunes) threatens to file for sole custody for Emma's
sake, and one can very clearly see his point. That said, nobody knows
what's going on inside Sarah's head, after all she isn't as messed up as
she is on purpose ...
A very compelling little drama, and one that works quite so well because
it doesn't go for hyperbole but tells its story in a measured way while
making Sarah's issues palpable but also relatable. This is of course
thanks to a well-structured script, a suitably subtle directorial effort
and of course also a very solid cast, and all this together makes up for a
very worthwhile short.
