Stephanie (Giovanna Leah), Kelly (Libby Baker) and Tricia (Andrea
Rabold) are best friends, roommates ... and blood sisters even, so there
should be nothing strong enough to shake the foundations of their
friendship. Now of course, Stephanie's together with Paul (Jason W.
Griffith), who's Kelly's ex, and that might not sound so ideal on the
surface, and Stephanie's also a bit unsure about it, but Kelly assures her
she's sooo over Paul and she needn't worry - so still perfect friendship,
right? Well, there's the little thing that Stephanie's slightly
unstable, mentally, and Kelly and Tricia know that - and Kelly isn't over
Paul at all but she and Tricia have made up a plot to drive Stephanie over
the edge and kill Paul, a plan that involves having Stephanie hear voices
and noises, and also to replace her medication with vitamine C. And the
plan works sooo well - beyond their wildest imaginations even! Just one
thing, "beyond their wildest imaginations" might not mean
"better than expected" for the two of them ... Evil
Intent is a very cleverly written movie, a film that, like a great old
school short story, takes you into one rabbit hole and nurtures your
expectations ... only to then come up with an ending that not only turns
all of that on its head, it also catches the audience off-guard in the
best possible way. Now add to this a very restrained directorial effort,
and a cast who might be in on the joke but who play it straight, and
you've got yourself a pretty cool piece of horror that you ought to not
miss!
