The Curator (Robbie Hampstead) shows us through his gallery of sinister
objects, knowing a macable story to each and every one:
- Don't Look: A couple (Holly McLachlan, Jackson Batchelor)
one night decide to summon a spirit - a little bit too sure they
wouldn't actually succeed ---
- Golden Boy: Orestes (Charlie Bentley) has wronged many a
person on his way to the top - never once considering that that could
horribly backfire one of these days ...
- The Medusa Stone: A blind beggar (Phil Lyndon) is
assaulted in a dark alleyway and robbed of the one recious possession
he has owned, a priceless stone. Unfortunately for the thief (Stephen
Longhurst), this stone has a very special, sinister quality ...
- Salt: A woman (Caroline Oakes) has found her husband
(Simon Berry) cheating - so she has her revenge over dinner ...
- The Haunted Man: Filmmaker Tony (Tony Mardon) has made a
film about the accidental death of his erstwhile girlfriend and
leading lady (Andrea Sandell) - only the deceased actress in person
isn't too happy about that ...
- Passion:
Maybe his (Jackson Batchelor) punishment doesn't always fit the crime,
but at least his murder weapons fit the surroundings ...
One of these charming indie horror anthologies that vary vastly in
style and tone - with the result that they seem to have at least something
for everyone (in the horror crowd that is). But indie as the film maybe,
actually several of the segments are pretty slick and stylish, while
storywise most defy clear formulaic storytelling, instead banking on
originality and surprisse. So again, no matter what sort of horror you're
in, you will like at least some of this anthology.
