Japan, the very early 1700's: The House of Ako is up in arms against
the Uesugi clan to have its revenge on Lord Kira. Thus the Uesugi clan
hires the Noto ninjas to kill the Ako ronins one by one. However, there is
a ninja master local to the Ako clan who thinks attacking the house of
Uesugi would be suicide, so he sends off his sexy female ninjas to seduce
the Ako ronins on one hand, defend them against their ninja enemies on the
other. The girls do everything in their power to use mainly their female
charms and their naked bodies to do just that, and sometimes they succeed,
sometimes they fail, sometimes they fall in love for real, which and most
of the times they are allowed to die heroine's deaths. Finally, the master
of the female ninjas decides it's now time to finally support the Akos'
vendetta - which ultimately puts his last ninja against the last Noto
ninja ... and curiously they were a couple once and are still madly in
love with each other. And finally she gives her life to save their love,
upon which he drags her body off the battlefield, no longer giving a heed
about the war he's only been a pawn in ... Now let's be honest,
none of the Female Ninjas: Magic Chronicles films were great
- but the best of them were quirky in a sexy sort of way, funny and
inventive ... at least when it came to turning naked female bodies into
sexy weapons. And this movie just isn't, it's a heavy handed lovestory
framing the story of the 47 Ronin (aka Chushingura)
which is way too complex for a film of this ilk. As a result, those not
familiar with the legend have no idea what's really going on most of the
time, and the fact that the film contains next to no fleshed-out
characters doesn't help either. Plus, where's the fun that usually makes
this series, well, fun? One of the lamest episodes of the series and
certainly not the one it should be judged by.
