Mandy's (Samantha Janus) old schoolfriend & lover Stoat (Eddie Marson)
cames to visit her in the flat he shares with Marty (Matthew Cottle) & her
agoraphobic landlord Mat (Neil Stuke), who lives in (self-)denial about his
homosexual tendencies. At first everything seems to be perfectly alright ...
until it turns out that Sotat is actually an escaped criminal ... & since
he has a gun, he of course manages to tie everybody up - Matt & Marty in
the livingroom, & Marty's girlfriend Clare (Tracy Keating) & Matt's gay
mate Jason (Mark Powley) in Marty's room ... until Marty, made jealous enough
by Matt, pleads Stoat to trade places with Jason (even though, Marty, contrary
to Matt, knows Jason is gay).
Mandy however manages to stay untied (for the moment), but her weeks of
celibacy hae made her so horny that she persuades Stoat to force her to have
sex with him (really) - which involves some nice bondage ... until she has
Stoat tied to her bed & gets hold of his gun, putting her in position to
throw him out & free her friends.
But when they all celebrate their release, Clare accidently mentions that
Jason's gay - which blows Matt's whole self denial-thing - & Jason
confesses his love to Matt ... who rather rudely throws him out, feeling
betrayed.
Marty meanwhile proposes to Clare ... who rather suddenly tells him it's
over though (since he's just too dull for her) ...
The same night, Marty & Matt, who both can't sleep, meet in the living
room, find Stoat's gun & accidently shoot the tv ... so at least the
episode ends with a smile.
Maybe a few too many major narrative strands are resolved in this episode
(e.g. Marty's relationship, Matt's closet homosexuality, the effects of Mandy's
celibacy), & all in a not too funny way, which keeps the episode itself
from being a total success. Still, it's definitely above the average
entertainment
