Belle's (Devan Liljedahl) car breaks down, and she doesn't have any
cellphone reception - but fortunately for her, she's in a residential
area, and a local, Nancy (Gretchen Krull) offers her to use her landline.
And after Belle has called a tow truck, she's even invited to have dinner
with Nancy and her husband Oliver (Kev Clinsc) - to then be shocked by
what they're serving: Human hand roast. But before she can do anything,
she passes out, and it turns out her wine was drugged - apparently she's
supposed to be their next roast. Before Nancy and Oliver can do anything
much to her though, they're interrupted by the tow truck driver Randy (Ted
Wulfers) looking for Belle. And while they take care of him, Belle comes
to her sensed enough to at least try to make an escape - but of course,
trying isn't necessarily succeeding ... One can't help but at
least somehow like The Good Samaritans for its macabre storyline
and healthy helping of black humour - but that's unfortunately as far as
it goes, as the film is rather blandly shot and directed, the constant
attempt to fake grindhouse looks is rather annoying after a short while,
and the acting - is actually quite ok but lacks panache to really bring
this one over the finish line as a winner.
