Jack's (Jon Devlin) self confident and attrractive, Vincent(Tommy Cooper)
is rather on the timid side and over-weight - and the two of them are not
only vying for the same job at Tara's (Shatareia Stokes) company they work
at, they also long for the same woman, Tara's assistant Meredith (Mary
Troutman). Now Meredith has long made her choice, especially after two
dates with Jack proved him to be a douche bag while Vincent appears to
have a good heart. So she decides to help Vincent with his presentation he
has to do applying for the job. There's just one problem, Vincent lives
with his sister Gracie (Erin Brown), who he takes care of rather
touchingly. There's just one problem: Gracie doesn't like strangers,
especially those interested in her brother - and she has the nasty habit
of beating everyone who gets in her way to death with a crowbar ...
Gracie's basically fun low budget horror: Sure, there's no big spectacle,
no fancy special effects or super-breathtaking setpieces, insstead
everything feels very grounded and for that very relatable - which is then
a great canvas for Erin Brown to ham it up in the title role, and she's in
equal parts scary and hilarious. The rest of the cast are much more
down-to-earth and manage to carry the movie rather nicely due to their
lack of pretensions. And the result of it is a rather entertaining piece
of horror cinema.
