The task at hand seems comparatively simple, author Anthony (Eric Shapiro)
is to write the third book in hs trilogy about heroine Dania (Zarith
Zalikha), which should be a sure-fire hit as the first two books sold
incredibly well. Thing is, inspiration doesn't come on order, and
eventually he sees himself forced to leave his wife (Rhoda Jordan) and son
(Henry Shapiro) just to get a clear head. Then though he stumbles across a
weird mask from Malaysia that slowly takes over his mind, and together
with his alter ego James (Also Eric Shapiro) draws him into the story he's
only making just making up and ultimately threatens to shatter his
perception of reality ... Now this movie deserves some credit for
effort already, as despite being made on a modest budget it manages to
make a homogenous piece out of scenes shot on two continents by two
directors - but effort only goes so far, and fortunately
Horrorbuku delivers beyond that, presenting the viewer with a
very entertaining mix of pulp mainstays and pure surrealism,
introspection, action and whatnot. The main thing though, this is also one
really enjoyable movie - weird maybe, but utterly enjoyable still.
