Ki-young desperately wants to get into Ji-ae's (Kang Byeol) panties,
but she's not nearly as willing as he'd like her to be - until his friend
Chung-ho (Park Yeon-woo) calls and suggests a weekend of camping,
something Jie-ae's more than open to, and she promises to have sex with
him on the campsite. So Ki-young is quick to agree to the camping trip,
and he even brings a girl, Chae-rim, for Chung-ho. However, once at the
campsite, that's weirdly enough surrounded by bear traps at almost every
trail, nothing goes to plan, starting by the fact that there's pretty much
no chemistry between the four "friends", also but not only
because Ji-ae proves to be decidedly weird. And then a madman breaks into
their camp and steals their stuff, their cellphones disappear, and Ji-ae
proves to be out on a vendetta against Ki-young and Chung-ho. But she's
far from the only one who has had ulterior (and not exactly pleasant)
motives for going on this trip ...
Now the set-up for this movie might be more than a little
generic - after all, how often can you send kids out on a camping trip
only to have them killed -, however the outcome definitely is not, as once
the film veers off the all too familiar formula, it doesn't cease to
surprise to the very end, throwing in several unexpected plottwists that
really go so far as to make it impossible to guess who's survive, who's to
die even for horror omnivours like myself. And the film backs its surprise
factor up in the suspense department, banking mostly on tension, though
when the blood flows it really flows, too. So in all, this is definitely a
very cool watch for all genre fans.
