For years, Michael Solace (Justin Thibault) has scarcely managed to scrape
through as an independent filmmaker, but now a big wig Hollywood producer
who has shown interest to produce films in the area, is interested in one
of his scripts, and Michael's agent Monica (Diana Porter) urges him to
sign on, as while it would mean for him to lose creative control over this
particular project, the cash involved would mean he could realize
potentially several of his smaller projects. Instead of listening to
reason, Michael believes he's selling out and falls into a fever dream
that exaggerates his panic to surrealist heights ..
Now this is a short that will definitely strike a chord with all writers,
heck, all creatives who have ever gotten afraid of their own success - and
that's almost all of them. What makes this silm so special though is that
it doesn't waste its time on dry psychoanalysis but puts things into
pictures almost immediately, and these pictures are strong and poignant,
with Justin Thibault plays it fittingly straight and is supported by a
solid cast indeed. In all, definitely worth a watch.
