Davinity (Arlene Vandenhammer) is a woman who's firm in her beliefs in
God and as virtuous as they come - at least on the outside. Then though
she finds a box on her porch, and when she opens it, she finds it
containing a severed penis, and all sorts of Satanic symbols. And from
here on, she seems to see sexual organs everywhere, be it on her sandwich
or among her collection of figures of saints. She visits the parish priest
(Trevor Spud Hagen), but even that doesn't help, as suddenly she sees the
man in all kinds of sexual poses. The priest tell her this might be the
work of demons - but it's doubtful that the "Hail Mary"s he
suggests her to pray will put an end to the horrors ... Now
Nadine L'Esperance has never been the most respectful filmmaker, and Musings
of a Sinner just proves this point: It's irreverent, vulgar, some
might go so far and say blasphemous - and it's of course also wickedly
funny. And funny not just in an a-laugh-a-minute way, but full of crazy
ideas, dark punchlines, and sexual innuendo that's just hilarious in its
bluntness. Now sure, the film's not for the easily offended - but great
fun for everyone else!
