This is no conspiracy theory, our planet is in a bad state - even if
key figures in politics and economy try to deny it -, what with humankinds
lack of care for the enviroment, a continually rising population, climate
change making itself felt with more and more disasters, and fossile fuel
supply slowly coming to an end despite rising demand and unwillingness to
turn to alternative energy - and this documentary touches all of this
subjects, mainly through interviews with talking heads, ranging from
scientists to former politicians to clergymen. That said though, this
dlcumentary isn't all doom and gloom, it also shows how, as an example,
the University of Pannonia, partly inspired by an event featuring famed
zoologist and enviromental advocate they hosted, has staged a series of
events on their own to promote sustainability and the like, creating a
sort of team spirit while doing so ... ... and it's really that
positivity that makes this film, because all the doom-and-gloom stores
that are sure worth to be told, are more or less common knowledge - though
not in as much detail. But it's really the fact that one oneself can make
a (however small) change that gives everything a more optimistic spin, a
spin that might will resonate with the audience much more than a hundred
(however factual) stories about the upcoming apocalypse.
