On their further pursuit of their mothership Red Dwarf, the skeleton crew of
the Red Dwarf - the last human Lister (Craig Charles), the after-death hologram
Rimmer (Chris Barrie), the robot Kryten (Robert Llewellyn), the cat evolved to
human form Cat (Danny John-Jules) - in their shuttle Starbug crashland on the
planet of the savage Gelfs. & to get their ship going again, they have to
trade withthe Gelfs ... & the catch is, the Gelf chief (Ainsley Harriott)
wants Lister to marry his daughter (Steven Wickham) ... & when Lister
somehow slips out of wedlock & gets away with the others in the STarbug,
little do they know the Gelfs have sent an Emohawk with them, a shapeshifting
creature feeding on emotions of humans & sucking up their primal character
traits ... so the vain Cat soon turns into a definitely uncool & unstylish
dork (also seen in the season 5 episode Back
to Realitry) while pedantzic, cowardly & self-righteous Rimmer
turns into his selfless heroic self ACe (also seen in th season 4 episode Dimension
Jump). Of course in the end, thanks to heroic Ace, the Emohawk is
caught & destroyed, & Rimmer & Cat are restored in their old
personalities again ... for better or worse. An average episode that
runs out of story way too soon & tries to get too many laughs by having its
characters do a little dress-up .... which would have been a tad funnier if the
characters' costumes hadn't been used before in other episodes while the actual
story is more than reminiscent of the season 3 episode Polymorph.
